Mind & brain

Within this website I explore whether there is a spiritual realm, a supernatural realm, containing God, mind, souls, consciousness with its contents (ideas, emotions, love, reason, etc) — this, from a purely philosophical and unreligious point of view. I first assume there is a spiritual realm so as to explore the implications; then I present my conclusions (in this article and related articles).

We can use the word "soul" to refer to that aspect of our mental self which comprises our person, but there is no entity in a spiritual realm called the soul. This, because there is no spiritual realm.

Anything which might be called "soul" is created by the brain.

It seems like a good explanation of life and consciousness to invoke the existence of a soul. But the extreme micromanagement required by this soul to control the body invalidates this explanation. If there is a soul, we should expect it to operate at the high-level of ideas and concepts, but it must control the body by dictating the outcome of every wave function collapse, of trillions upon trillions upon trillions of electrons.
